This blog contains selected parts of the memoirs of the physicist and poet Professor Saeed Akhtar Durrani. Born on 8 December 1929 in Lyallpur in what is now Pakistan, he died on 16 July 2018 in Birmingham, UK, at the aged of 88.

He originally wrote the memoirs in long-hand between 2008 and 2009 and, after being typed up, proofread and printed, they were presented to him in full on the occasion of his 50th wedding anniversary in December 2012.

The blog does not include everything that is in the memoirs, but only selected highlights that will be of most interest to readers. So please do come back regularly as I continue to post new sections from the memoirs.
